Pros, Neutral Notes, and Cons

Other things of note to consider that haven’t been mentioned above.

Pros

  • Every purchase of Maitreya LaraX Petite comes with a fullbody version of Lara Original Petite. This gives you access to a large catalogue of products that were released for the original body.
  • LaraX allows for diverse shapes more easily than Lara Original did.
  • Maitreya is a very established brand in Second Life. This has a big chance to boost the popularity pretty quickly.
  • The clothing/underwear/tattoo layers are separate objects that can be removed to keep your complexity lower.

Neutral Notes

  • With LaraX being so new at the time of this listing, there are not as many clothing options currently. That said, there are hundreds of creators with access to the Maitreya Dev kits. As time goes on we’ll see how third party support grows.
  • If you already own LaraX you can purchase the Lara Petite addon for cheaper than the full body if you prefer. Keep in mind doing so will take an extra attachment slot as you need to wear both the LaraX body and the chest addon.

Cons

  • LaraX Petite doesn’t come with any shapes. This isn’t a huge con since most folks will use a shape designed for their head and tweak the body to match, but it is still something of note.

  1. I love having the Lara Petite X in one body, no attachment required! That said, I have a question. With all lighting options enabled, people have told me that her skin (one of the included velour skins) looks ass if it is wet and “dripping”. With the advanced lighting options disabled, the effect disappears. With an old Redgrave skin, the effect is still there with the advanced lighting options turned on. Am I doing something wrong that causes this? Is the body shape causing it? I use a Lelutka head and shape. Sure, I know, just don’t use the advanced lighting options. Problem is, some of the men who are chasing my tail use advanced lighting, and make comments to me about the tiny imperfections. Has anyone else noticed this effect? I had the body re-delivered, just in case, and the re-delivered body does the same thing. What am I doing wrong? Help, please!

    • It may be an issue with the old skin or with shines or shine settings not being the same on both the head and the body. For specific help with Lara Petite X I recommend swinging by their Discord or asking in the Maitreya group chat since they’ll be able to troubleshoot more effectively with you. I hope they can help you achieve the look you’re going for!
