Not Just Skins: Don’t Miss These at Skin Fair 2021

You’ve probably heard about Skin Fair by now. It’s a giant yearly event that showcases far more than just skins. You can find shapes, makeup, scars, eyes, tattoos, ears, nails, nipples, even bodies and heads. As expected a lot of the big name skin, head, and body brands in Second Life are participating. Even if you don’t need a new skin it’s worth checking out. This year Skin Fair 2021 is presented by Pale Girl Productions & LeLUTKA.

This post isn’t digging into every new thing available. Instead this is a glance at some fun things for customizing your avatar that you may not have realized were available at Skin Fair.

A Foxy Welcome to Fall

Avatar inspiration focused posts are less in depth than most of my other content, but still credit everything used.

Salem in Second Life, that is! Salem is a lovely Halloween themed shopping event that runs through October 31. There you’ll find a wide variety of fun including gachas, gore, cute friends, and more! I picked up a few cat pets that I can hold or have hang out with me and even a little bat to sit on my shoulder. I absolutely loved it!

And of course, because Halloween is my favorite, I also got sooo many things. When throwing them on so I could organize my inventory, I realized I looked super cute and had to share it with you all.

This hair is one of my favorites. Ever. I’m generally a Truth girl as many of you know, but FOXY has been really winning me over too! I’ve snagged a few of their hairs recently and am really impressed. This style, Feline, has the ears built right in. You can also style it to remove the ears and have a two tone hair instead. Super awesome!

The makeup here is by Suicidal Unborn. I love the lipstick because it came with multiple options, many of them combinations of red and black (my fav).Their lipstick was sold separate, but the rest of the makeup (and brows) all came in one purchase. It even had 4 other makeup styles as well. Definitely worth checking out if this is your style.

Sinfully Sweet’s Heart Stopper Golden

Sinfully Sweet has brought this gorgeous dress to Dazzle for January. This dress is a sexy addition to your closet. Depending on how you wear it (yay mix & match options) you can go casual or semi formal. The pattern is enough to draw the eye but not be distracting. Plus it hugs your curves in all the right ways!

My absolute favorite part of this dress is the detail in the laces. Make sure to check out the close ups in the Pics & Credits section to see how lovely they are.

The dress fits Belleza, Maitreya, Slink, TMP, and 5 standard sizes. The boots are designed for Maitreya Lara and Slink Physique, however if you make use of alpha layers to hide portions of your legs and feet they may work for other bodies as well.

Dazzle with Firelight

Firelight has brought three lovely Gen2 Collection mesh hairs to Dazzle this month. Today I’ll be showing off Mareela, but you can see the other two at DAZZLE.

Mareela

Mareela is a full bodied mesh hair at a low price. Every purchase comes with a standard rigged mesh version of the hair, another rigged mesh version for larger chested avatars, the color HUD (or HUDs for the fatpack), a tinting HUD, store landmarks, and a promo texture for reference.

There are eight colors HUDS to choose from: Black & White, Reds, Browns, Blonds, Pastels, Fantasy Colors, Essentials (a selection of natural colors), and Darks. The Darks pack includes 18 shades and the other packs include 12 shades each.

Mareela is available in the color HUDS shown below at the Firelight booth for L$125 each, or you can purchase them all in the fatpack for L$349.

Please note that the hair base (the hair texture at the top of the forehead) seen in this photo is not included. This hair base is part of the Vista Lia head. Many mesh heads come with hair bases. Classic avatars can use the hair feature and tinting. Third party hair bases can also be found on grid or on the Marketplace.

Of Bubbles, Pillows, and Pictures

D!Vine Style (also known as Active Urban when selling furniture) has some goodies at this month’s DAZZLE. You can find all these items at the D!Vine Style booth.

Bubbles

First are the bubbles! There are two bubble items, a couples bubble and a solo bubble (shown here), both packaged together. They come with a HUD to play with various poses and, in the case of the couples’ bubble, rug textures.

My favorite part about the solo bubble is that there is a rez version and an avatar attachment (shown here). What’s that mean? It means you wear it or drop it on the ground. You can place it in your home, but I prefer the wearable. Why? This allows you to move around in the bubble. You can float wherever you need to go! It’s really fun and relaxing.

Gold is one of my favorite colors and I can see myself mix & matching these roses with other outfits, too. They’re easy to adjust for any style. 4 roses come in an arrangement around the back of the head that would look lovely on a ponytail, however I wanted to show just one off on a different style instead.

For this holiday season Twisted is running their Krissmuss celebration as a more traditional sale event instead. Running through January 3, 2018 is Twisted Krissmuss. There are 60 merchants participating in this event and items are only L$100 each.

Lilah Fur Stole

I love warm, fuzzy accessories even off grid. Naturally I was really excited to try on these fur stoles. I was not disappointed! The Lilah Fur Stole comes in four colors: White, Black, Cream (shown here), and Silver Fox. You can see every color in the Pics & Credits section below.

The stole fit my Maitreya body almost perfectly out of the box. I did have to modify my breast size slightly so they didn’t poke though, but it was a quick and easy adjustment. The stole itself can be resized by clicking as well! The minimum size is tiny enough a tiny elf could wear it and the largest would easily fit a frost giant. Demos are available if you want to double check that it will fit.
